Read-aloud picture books on YouTube are something I discovered way back when I started my whole journey. When you do research on becoming an author, one of the many things you’ll hear and be tasked to do is READ! You can borrow books from the library or buy them, but I think my favorite way to access to picture books is YouTube. There are many channels I’ve subscribed to that have exposed me the most to many books that are unique in style and convey different messages. The more exposure I’ve had, the more I have gotten a feel for how picture books should sound, how they should be structured, and how creative they can be. I can’t express enough how much talent there is and how moving and capturing words can be, and this is so important for all children who are learning every single day. Both words and especially illustrations help foster critical thinking skills, emotional development, language skills, creativity and imagination, as well as comprehension and literacy. Below are a list of some of the YouTube channels I am subscribed to and enjoy.
