Hi there and welcome to my homepage! If you are new to picture books and would like to write for children, you have come to the right spot. I will start off by saying I am no expert; however, I have learned a lot of things over the course of two years. My goal here is to share what I have learned as well as document my journey to publishing a picture book the traditional way. I have self-published a coloring book and a picture book on Amazon via Kindle Direct Publishing, and that is what jumpstarted the last few years. Today, I want to create a space where aspiring writers for children can read, learn, and share all things regarding picture books. I have not traditionally published a picture book yet but will be documenting my process and progress in the blog section.
If there is one piece of advice I can give to get you started, it would be to READ READ picture books. Go to your local library or bookstore and just pick up a book. Even some thrift stores offer a great selection of picture books if you are looking to purchase, and if you’re anything like me, you will end up with a massive collection of picture books.
